Part 3 Getting Ready

Install a new ink-ribbon cartridge.

Refer to "To Install Ink-ribbon Cartridges" in the previous

section.

Check all ink cartridges installed in the ink-ribbon cartridge

holders for slackness. If you find one that is slack, remove

the ink-ribbon cartridge from the cartridge holder and take

up the slack.

Grasp the ink-ribbon cartridge at the center with your

thumb and index finger, and push the ink-ribbon cartridge

to the left so as to press the latch on the left edge of the

holder. Lift up the right side of the ink-ribbon cartridge and

remove the ink-ribbon cartridge.

Latch (blue area)

Switch off the power to the PC-12 and press the front-cover

eject button. When the internal lock is released, open the

front cover gently while supporting it with your hands.
